How Do You Use Yours?

We've been surprised by some of the sports we've heard that are using our FlipUpBill™ hats.
If you've found a new use not listed, please let us know.

surfing
SURFING
Our initial focus when we invented these hats. Keeps the bill out of the face when laying on the board and paddling out, duck-diving, or even slogging through the waves.

kayaking
OCEAN KAYAKING
Another sport that involves pushing through the waves and requiring unobstructed visibility.

SUP boarding
SUP
Popular not only for the SUP riders on the waves, but even just cruising around the bay. Some folks cut the chinstraps off since they do more cruising than wave riding and also don't go out when the winds are high, so they don't necessarily need or want the straps.

wind-surfing
WIND-SURFING
Primarily nice to simply have a flexible bill since rigid bills sometimes come in contact with the mast and knock back the head, but being able to flip up the bill out of the face can come in handy as well.

diving
SNORKELING
We had some divers relay to us that they like using our hats right after getting out of the water. Since they're made for getting wet, and since it can get a bit windy out on the water, the hats were a perfect match for blocking out the sun.

bodyboarding
BODYBOARDING and BODYSURFING
We never thought about this sport for our hats, but it totally makes sense. We've had several customers report how they love using our hats and haven't found anything else that works as well since this sport involves even more wave interaction than surfing on a board, and needing to be able to lock the bill out of the face is a must. Being able to quickly and easily flip the bill out of the way is a key.

photography
PHOTOGRAPHY
Another one we didn't see coming... Photographers have said they were frustrated with how hats always got in the way of the lens on the camera, but with our hats they love the flexible bill and being able to flip the bill up out of the way completely. Of course the chinstraps don't come in too handy here, so this is another use where they usually get snipped off (unless they're a storm photographer).

volleyball
VOLLEYBALL
Flip it up to open the visibility just before that kill shot, then pull it back down after the rally.

boating
BOATING
Simple application of UV protection and a chinstrap to keep from losing the hat to the wind has our boating customers happy with our hats

jet skiing
JET SKIING
Strap on your UV protection and flip up the bill to lock it in place while you speed along the water.

water skiing
WATER SKIING / WAKEBOARDING
So here's another use of the hat we hadn't considered, but I guess if you're on those skis long enough, you'll want the UV protection and the chinstrap to keep the hat on the head.
